Loek Hopstaken is from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Since 2008 he has been living and working in both Vietnam and his home country in various capacities: Business Consultant, Management Trainer, Coach and Mentor.
Experiences & Achievements
The Netherlands
Before Vietnam he worked for Dutch banks for 17 years, as HR Specialist, Project Manager and Department Manager. His last job in banking was for the ING Bank, as Senior Quality Consultant and management trainer. As a seasoned project manager and specialist in 3 areas: personnel, organization, and communication, his passion became sharing his knowledge & know-how. As a consequence, in 1993 he left the bank and started working fulltime for a Dutch training and consultancy firm. He also started his own firm. Main areas: leadership & management soft skills, business & personal communications; human resource management. One of his specialties became helping to grow startups becoming fully professional and ISO-certified organizations.
He delivered his training and consultancy services to thousands of leaders, managers and specialists. For four years he ran his own business club. In 2003 he was invited to lecture at Dutch Delta Business School. In 2005 he was awarded his first Professor title for his business expertise, experience and teaching qualities. In 2007 he was awarded his second Professor title, at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences.
Vietnam
In Vietnam he has been a Guest Lecturer at Vietnamese and foreign universities. For two seasons he performed as a regular Jury Member in the CEO Key to Success tv show. However, his main occupation is developing and delivering tailor made learning and development programs for Vietnamese managers. He is also personal coach to HR professionals and mentor to Vietnamese CEO’s.
